The Taj Mahal (post #2 of 3)

The grounds inside were fantastic, beautifully manicured. I couldn't believe how big the grounds were. I was not expecting that.
I forgot the four turrets leaned slightly away from the main building.
Walking from the entrance towards the Taj.
This is halfway there. This is taken by a "dude" who grabbed James and directed him the best spots to pose in front of. He later expected some reward for this of course.
Looking back at the entrance from the halfway point.
My solo postcard shot.
Another picture for Lizard!
The same dude who grabbed James, grabbed Randy for some pictures. He actually took some good shots with the subject centered and focused.
Merv and Randy enjoying some nice warm water on a hot day!
Here we are looking back at the entrance as we walk up the steps at the base of the Taj.
This is from the center of the main "deck" or base of the Taj.
This picture is here out of order, taken from ground level right in front of the Taj.
One of the many armed security patrolling the area.
Everyone walking on the actual Taj had to either wear booties or take off their shoes. A lot of folks were barefoot on 110F marble! Ouch!!!
Looking up at a corner of the Taj.
The inside was a lot smaller than I was expecting. It looks a whole lot bigger from outside! For some reason, no pictures are allowed inside so I'm not sure how these neaxt few pictures got here!
The ceiling was as high as it looked from outside.
All the arches and marble work were spectacular!
This is in the middle of the room, there is about a 10 foot walkway around with workers making sure traffic keeps moving and visitors don't linger too long there.
The two tombs are of Shah Jahan and his primary wife, Muntaz Mahal for whom he built the Taj.
Looking out the back of the Taj towards the right....
... towards the middle....
... and to the left.
